Mountain bikes are your proper off road machine, the biking equivalent of a Landrover or Jeep, not just a bike pretending to be one!

For these bikes we stock products from Specialized and Giant. The bikes listed below are carried in stock, however please check out the manufacturers sites (By clicking their company logo) to see their full range which we can easily order and obtain if you wish.

The Hardrock '09 range (Available from August 2008) - are entry level machines, but using tried and tested components are reliable for off-road use or for riders wanting a solid bike for a multitude of uses.

The Hardrock sport range is available for 2009 in Black with gold or White with red/black graphics, for this year the frame weight has been reduced by 20% to give the Hardrock family a true cross country feel again, the Sport has 24 speed Sram S4 transmission using a strong Suntour chainset, strong Specialized rims made by Alex with Shimano rear cassette hubs, 'V' brakes, Specialized HardPack tyres, Body Geometry saddles and Suntour 100mm travel suspension forks. Sizes available, 13", 15", 17", 19", 21" and 23". This is the UK's best selling Off-roader at this price point! £299.

Also available with Avid BB5 Mechanical disc brakes is the Hardrock Sport Disc in Black or Red selling at £369. This keeps the same high strength spec as the Sport but gains disc specific rims. Available in 13", 15", 17", 19" and 21".

Moving up to a full Shimano 24 speed transmission, the Hardrock Comp at £399, looks classy in its silver livery, with quality wheels and 100mm travel suspension forks with lock-out, a real all-round entry level cross country bike.

And finally the Hardrock Pro Disc model, this receives further upgrades  to the Shimano gear system, Shimano Octalink Chainset and BB, Suntour 100mm travel forks with lockout and all the other features of the Comp. Charcoal colour finish for £499.

An equal product to the Hardrock but specifically for Lady riders is the Myka range of bikes from Specialized. The Myka Sport is a 24 speed Sram geared mountain bike with womans specific forks, tyres, saddle and of course frame geometry. £299

And also available in a disc brake version for easier stopping in off road situations the Myka Sport Disc sells for £369

Next from Specialized is the Rockhopper Range of bikes. The geometry and componetry on these bikes make them more suited for the more experienced rider who needs a higher performing machine.

The Rockhopper's have more aggressive geometry and a flatter stem angle to stretch the rider out a bit more than the Hardrock range and all '09 Rockhopper's have disc brakes and use the M4 main frame from the Stumpjumpers with an A1 back triangle for lightness, featuring ORE technology tubes and forged ends designed for strength, durability, extra tyre clearance and obviously lightness. The entry level Rockhopper has 27spd Shimano Deore gears and full Shimano specification on all other parts including a hollowtech octalink crainset, this model also has a RockShox Reba suspension fork with 100mm of travel and lock-out and Tektro hydraulic disc brake system and disc specific Alex/Specialized rims. The Rockhopper is available in two colours, Silver or Red and is keenly priced at £599

The Rockhopper Comp is available in polished Silver or Gloss Black, has Avid Juicy 2 160mm hydraulic disc brakes for stopping power and reduced mud clogging at the forks and rear stays. RockShox Recon forks and strong Alex/Specialized disc specific rims, it costs £699

The entire range of Specialized mountain bikes are available to order, these include Stumpjumper's (HT or FSR), FSR XC's, Epics, Enduros, and P.Series.

Giant offer off-road bikes above their entry level Rock's starting from £249, we keep the following four bikes in stock, however the whole range including the full suspensions and Team composite bikes are available to order.

The Rincon is Giants first tough off roader, it has 24speed Shimano Alivio gears using a cassette hub rear wheel for extra strength. It also has RockShox J1 80mm travel suspension fork, and is available in a Black and Silver two tone finish in 14",  17", 19", 21" and 23". Great value at £299

The Yukon has mainly the same components as the Rincon, but its main upgrade is to the braking system, this bike gets the Hayes GX2 mechanical discs. Colour scheme is Metallic Blue with Black, and it is available in 14", 17", 19", 21" and 23" and is great value at £375
