We keep Racing bikes from Bianchi, Giant and Specialized.
2010 Models arriving daily, please ring for details - 01625 532325 The whole of the road range from Bianchi has been revamped for 2010, as usual, we will be endeavoring to keep the very affordable C2C ViaNirone range in stock, but if you want one of the many other models from the Bianchi catalogue then come in and discuss this with us, advice will be given on sizing and which model will best suit your riding style and demands. Bianchi's range is entirely assembled in Italy, which certainly is quite unique in these days of Taiwan built products. Most of the frames are made of various grades of aluminium, using a unique welding process, and then heat treated to relax the aluminium back to its original state. Some of the frames then have carbon fibre stays bonded onto them, and finally they are painted using a high-tech spray plant. The grade of aluminium used for the ultra light FG Lite frame is second to none, however if you don't like aluminium then there are frames/bikes available in full monocoque carbon fibre, lugged carbon fibre or titanium.
For the new 2010 range, we start with the ViaNirone 7 Alu - 2300 model. The name comes from the address that Ernesto Bianchi first built the bikes from in Milan. The frame is made from triple butted aluminium and now has frame geometry sympathetic with the leisure cyclist who needs a slightly less extreme riding position than the 'pro' cyclist. These changes are only very subtle so a keen rider can quite easily still obtain a traditional racing position. The bike has a kevlar/carbon fibre fork, and the latest 2300 Shimano 8 speed transmission set with a FSA compact double chainwheel, oversize Deda bars and 4-bolt Bianchi stem, a SanMarco saddle, Vittoria tyres, in Azzuro Blue, available in sizes 46, 50, 53, 55, 57, 59 and 61 cms. £617.50 (inc 17.5% VAT)
The ViaNirone Alu 7 - Sora, with a smart new paint finish is already selling well, 18spd Shimano gears, Deda OS bars, micro adjusting seat pillar, Fisik saddle, and a cheaper price point than last years £696 (inc 17.5% VAT)
The next model is the ViaNirone Alu 7 - Xenon, a very popular bike last year, again with the Coast to Coast frame geometry and Kevlar/Carbon front forks, Campagnolo Xenon 10 speed transmission and a FSA compact chainset. Oversize Deda bars and stem, a SanMarco saddle, an Ambrosia wheelset with low maintenance cartridge bearing hubs finishes the package. This models colour is White/Celeste (as above), sizes 46, 50, 53, 55, 57, 59 and 61cms.£747 (inc 17.5% VAT)
A new model for 2010's UK line up is the ViaNirone Alu 7 Tiagra, at a very competitive price for the specification, and a classy yet modern colour scheme, it will be popular. The Tiagra shifters uses the lever action used in Shimano's higher specification groups meaning a good positive feel to the gear change, the rest of the parts are similar to the Sora bike. £824.50 (inc 17.5% VAT)
Bianchi's next model, and probably their best value bike, is the ViaNarone Alu-Carbon - Veloce 10 spd, (image above shows colour not specification) using a carbon/kevlar seat stayed version of the ViaNirone C2C frameset for ultimate comfort and Campagnolo's 10 speed Veloce groupset and an Ambrosia wheelset, Michelin tyres and Deda oversize bars and stem and a nice carbon fibre Bianchi branded seat pillar. The colour for this bike is Celeste. In sizes 50, 53, 55, 57, 59, 61cms. £1082 (inc 17.5% VAT)
For a full carbon B4P (Born for performance) product I have chosen to stock this MonoQ Veloce bike. The frame is ultra light and stiff (close to 1kg frame weight), and with Bianchi being an Italian brand I have chosen the Campagnolo Veloce equipped version (although a Shimano 105 model is available) it has a good performing wheel set from Fulcrum, Deda bars and stem, RC Carbon seat pillar and a Fisik saddle. £1700 (inc 17.5% VAT) The range from Bianchi carries on using even higher quality frames and components and they can be obtained to order in a few days. 2010 Giant Defy now coming into stock, these start from £475 At Rick Green Cycles, the whole range of Giant bikes are available, but for this year we are concentrating on the Defy range which offer great value for money below the £1000 price mark. For 2010, Specialized have introduced a new range of bikes called Secteurs, they have the exact geometry to the Roubaix range of carbon bikes in the higher pricepoints, but are built more affordably out of aluminium, they all get carbon forks some with zertz inserts for comfort and have triple chainwheels with Shimano gear systems. These bikes are therefore aimed at the riders who want real comfort from a road bike but don't want to compromise speed, the handlebars are also shallow dropped, all in all, these bikes are great for endurance riders or people entering the road bike market, who are unsure of their ability to cope with the higher gears and more aggressive geometry of other road bikes.
The Secteur pictured uses the new Shimano 2300 8speed group with a triple Shimano crankset to match, carbon forks and A1 premium aluminium frame make up the chassis, the wheel set from Alex and the dual pivot brakeset are the only non Shimano parts on the bike. The whole Secteur range uses 700x25c tyres for that extra bit of comfort. This model is priced at £549.
The Secteur Sport impresses me because of it's upgrades, it gets Shimano Sora 27 speed gears, upgraded saddle, wheels and zertz inserts in the fork blades for comfort, £649. The whole Secteur range is available, including the great value Elite model with 105 gear system for just £999.
The Allez for 2010 is an amazing first bike, using a lightweight double butted aluminium frame and carbon fibre forks it is great value. It keeps it's more 'race' style geometry, new Shimano 2300 group gives a great gear range and really positive gear shifting, Specialized own components including Mondo comp tyres with Flak jacket puncture resistance and a Body Geometry saddle and compact road bars add the comfort factor. It is available with either double or a triple chainwheel and for the UK it comes in silver or red. £499 for the double, £529 for the triple.
The Allez Sport, in a very fashionable new white colour, uses an entire Shimano Sora groupset with a compact double chainwheel set which, combined with the 9 speed rear wheel sprocket set gives a very competent range of gears suitable for both novices and experienced cyclists. Just £599.
The Allez Elite has the same frame and forks as the Allez, however the components are higher using a full Tiagra double compact groupset with a 105 rear gear from Shimano. It also gets an oversize stem and handlebar. A smart Alex wheelset completes the package. The UK colour is Team Red as shown. £799. As always, we can acquire the full range of Specilaized roads bikes, Tarmacs, Roubaix, Dolce, Ruby, Transition, depending on the current availability situation. |
